S t a g e s   &   S u p p l i e r s

Enjoying the traditional method of pencil and paper, I begin with hand drawn plans and furniture layouts for a room, whether it's a kitchen, sitting room or a child's bedroom. Before being able to do this, I would need plans of the room/s. If an architect has been appointed, I would require scale plans at 1:50 which I can work from.  If a client is not appointing an architect, I can arrange for measurements to be taken which will then be transformed into CAD plans.

Once I have drawn out the furniture layouts (and the layouts have been approved by the client), I would start the process of putting the schemes together; paint colours, furniture choices such as bespoke fitted cabinetry, proposed antique pieces, ready made pieces of furniture, upholstery, furnishing fabrics, lighting, flooring, curtain fabrics and window treatments - everything that is required, from the client's brief, to go in the room/s.

When designing kitchens and once my hand drawn plans are finalised, they are transformed into CAD drawings showing the layout, detailed measurements, elevations and Plumbing & Electrical plans for your contractor to work from prior to installation. Other bespoke cabinetry will be shown to scale with my hand drawn images.

I use an exceptional Cabinet Maker with a career spanning more than 25 years.  From my designs, he creates stunning one-off pieces, fitted furniture, vanity units and beautiful hand made kitchens, all tailored to my clients' needs from his workshop in Somerset.  The furniture is unique, hand painted and made from solid wood. Each kitchen or piece of furniture is made specifically for the space it has been designed for so no compromises are necessary.

With upholstery, I began my career at Kingcome Sofas, learning, in detail, about the internal workings of a handmade sofa or armchair. I have continued to work closely with one of my first colleagues from Kingcome who now has his own business creating beautifully upholstered furniture from his workshop in Devon,  all bespoke and to order. He uses both modern and traditional methods to produce furniture ranging from contemporary through to traditional elegant pieces.
